Abdominal Ultrasound

  • Kidneys: Examines the size, shape, and position of the kidneys. It can detect kidney stones, cysts, tumors, or other kidney-related issues.
  • Spleen: Assesses the spleen for size, texture, and the presence of any abnormalities.
  • Abdominal Aorta: Examines the large blood vessel (aorta) in the abdomen for the presence of aneurysms or other vascular issues.
  • Bladder: Evaluates the bladder for signs of inflammation, tumors, or other abnormalities.
  • Pelvic Organs: In some cases, abdominal ultrasound may extend to the pelvic region to assess the uterus, ovaries, or prostate.

  • Abdominal ultrasound is commonly used during pregnancy to monitor the development of the fetus and assess the health of the placenta.
